Description
-
Image 1: Icon of the Virgin Hodegetria Dexiokratousa (She who points the way holding the right hand) in metal mount. The Virgin and Child are placed under a conceptual arch composed of two Ionic columns situated on rectangular stylobates and a thin arch in the shape of a double-helix. Two pendants are in the uppermost left and right corners of the icon. A frame of sorts is represented via the raised rectangular and cross-hatched lines surrounding the central scene. A pediment formed of organic motifs crowns the icon.
Image 2: Medallion in a metal mount with the Crucifixion. St. Mary and perhaps St. John accompany Christ on the cross. Behind the two figures are backgrounds of some kind despite the scene's usual outdoor setting. Saints or angels appear in the second horizontal arm of the cross.
