Title
Textile: Epigonation with Anastasis
Description
Christ is shown standing triumphantly near the center of the textile pulling up Adam and Eve with each hand. Four saints, two on each side of Christ, are also present. These saints have not been identified with a monogram or name however, standard iconographic depictions of the Anastasis often show Seth and David (proper right?) and John the Baptist and Solomon (proper left?) (Weyl Carr, "Anastasis", Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium).

At the top of the textile is a medallion with vines containing a flaring Greek cross. Around the perimeter of the Anastasis scene are interlacing organic motifs in the shape of stars or flower petals. At each corner of the textile are medallions with flaring Greek crosses.
