Description
In the central roundel of the medallion is the Crucifixion. Christ, the angels above him, and the four figures standing beside him have all been carved in low-relief. There are not indications of stigmata or a wound at Christ's side where the Roman Soldier and later saint, Longinus pierced him during the event. The cross has been carved into the medallion rather lightly; much more prominent are the figures and the Mount of Golgotha. In the outer rim of the medallion are various icons of saints.
