On the lid of the waferbox is a cherub's head with wings surrounding it. The lid can be lifted to reveal a small dish where the wafers could be stored. Two paintings adorn the interior of the waferbox, one on the underside of the lid and another on the opposite side. Under the lid is a painting of Christ Pantokrator holding the bread of the eucharist. He is supported by the symbols of the evangelists beneath him. The Virgin and Child enthroned appears on the opposite side. They are flanked by angels.
